Disability Insurance Business (AOV) No Expense

Is my disability insurance deductible?

This really differs per type of insurance, it is best to consult the site of the Tax Authorities and also your insurance or provision company.

In general:

As an entrepreneur, you can take out a disability insurance (AOV). You pay premiums and in the case of incapacity for work the insurer pays you a one-off or periodic amount.

The deductibility of the premiums and the taxability of the benefit depend on the chosen AOV. In general, if the premium is not deductible, the benefit is not taxed. If the premium is deductible, the benefit is taxed.

Even if you take out the AOV as an entrepreneur, these premiums are not a cost item for your company. In your income tax return, you deduct them as "expenditure for other income provisions".
