Client abroad

Can I send an invoice to a foreign client?

Yes, you can. Please take into account the VAT, the desired language on the invoice and possibly other currencies. You have to take into account whether the client is located inside or outside the EU. You can read more about this on the site of the Tax Authorities on this page about doing business with foreign countries.

Shifted VAT

If you work abroad for a client, there is a good chance that the VAT has shifted. Read this page to know how to do that.

Other language

You can always draw up the invoice in English and/or Dutch. You choose the language of the basic information in the invoice before you draw up your invoice. The signature (including bank account and payment term) and the accompanying mail can be written in any language you want.

Currency

In The Bookie Webapp you can only enter euros, this is to avoid misunderstandings and miscalculation in your administration. However, you can mention on an invoice that the amount can be paid in foreign currency (pounds, dollars or something else) or that the euro amount has an equivalent of the foreign currency. After you have received the amount in euros on your account, click on Edit and note the actual amount paid in euros.
