Terminate company and/or subscription

How do I end my collaboration with The Bookie if I become an employee or no longer want the subscription?

You deregister your company

Are you going into salaried employment or do you quit your one-man business for some other reason? If so, you will no longer have to submit VAT returns after the completion of this quarter. At the end of the year, however, you do have to declare the income from your business when filing your income tax return. Depending on a number of factors, such as the length of time you have had your business, the turnover and other criteria, you will probably also need to have annual documents. Read here what you need to think about.

You are going to take care of your administration yourself or have another bookkeeper do it for you.

In this case you choose one of the options below, depending on what work you still want us to do. In all situations we ask you to send us an email with the reason for your departure. Together we will make sure that we sign out as your tax advisor, we are sure that we are doing the right work for you and we can learn from your feedback if you are not satisfied.

Option 1: Stop immediately - no more work

Email your team or info@thebookie.nl and ask them to stop your subscription immediately. Payments will stop as of this month, as will our work. We will not do VAT returns or income tax returns for you. With your basic account you keep access to your administration.

Option 2: Stop after the quarter - last VAT return

Mail your team or info@thebookie.nl and ask them to stop your subscription after the last quarterly payment (so March, June, September or December) and indicate that the tax return must be done by us. Make sure you have clicked on the 'updated' button on or before the 8th. We will no longer file any additional VAT returns and income tax returns for you.

Option 3: Stop after the financial year - last IB declaration

Regardless of whether your company is still registered or not, you can continue the subscription. At the end of the year we will file your income tax return (and possibly your tax partner's) and take into account other income, such as income from salaried employment. By selecting this option we still complete your administration for a fixed amount.
PLEASE NOTE: mail in time with your team or info@thebookie.nl so that no more deductions are made after December.

What you need to do once you cancel your Bookie subscription

  1. Email your team or info@thebookie.nl what your wishes are and as of when our work stops.
  2. Export your data in an excel or csv. Read how here.

What The Bookie does

  1. We will deregister ourselves from the tax authorities as your consultant, revoke your authorisations and request no further postponement (unless you have chosen option 3)
  2. the subscription debits will automatically stop.
