Consequences and preparation Brexit

What should I consider when doing business with the United Kingdom?

On January 31st, 2020, the United Kingdom (UK) left the European Union (EU), aka Brexit. This means that the countries England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are now outside the EU. The UK is an important trading partner for the Netherlands, so Brexit can also have consequences for your company if you do business with partners in the UK.

There will be a transition period until 31 December 2020, during which the EU and the UK will negotiate a new cooperation agreement; Until then, there are no changes for your tax affairs and benefits. For example, you can still shift the VAT of sales and expenses from and to the United Kingdom within the EU (and not outside the EU). As soon as the new rules are known regarding the shift of VAT to and from the UK, we will post it here immediately.

The Brexit Counter and Scan
